China, Uruguay eye stronger ties

Uruguay's Ambassador to China Fernando Lugris called on the two sides to foster stronger ties in business, politics and culture cooperation.

Since China and Uruguay established diplomatic relations in 1988, mutual understanding between the two peoples has deepened and bilateral ties have been strengthened, Fernando Lugris said at an exclusive interview with China Daily.

Ambassador Fernando Lugris is a career diplomat of the Uruguayan Foreign Service, specialized in multilateral negotiations related to the environment, human rights, trade and regional integration.

In 2015 Ambassador Lugris has been designated as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uruguay to the People's Republic of China.
